Info
Kristin Weissenberger (1982, Voitsberg, AT) is an artist,
material-researcher and lecturer based in Vienna, Austria. In her artistic practice she uses
different media and formats to explore the relationship between human and
non-human agency.
In ongoing cross-disciplinary investigations that combine art, science,
alchemy, craft and technology, she explores questions of how we interact with
the sphere of matter and organisms that surrounds us, how this relationship shapes our
understanding of being in the world, and how we can create new forms of
encounter in the destroyed environment of the Anthropocene.
Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally, and she
frequently works on these artistic issues in collaborative projects.
Kristin Weissenberger studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and teaches now as a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna,
where she is also heads of the workshop for Molding and Casting Techniques.
